We came to Edgemere after serving as State Youth and Christian Education Director of West Virginia. Prior to West Virginia, we served in State Administrative work in the Church of God Offices of Missouri and Delmarva-D.C..
Our heritage reaches back to that great state of South Carolina. We are often teased about our southern brogue which we have never been able to lose. We are both alumni of Lee College which is now Lee University. My full time ministry began in the state of Missouri.
Naomi and I have been married for forty-three years. My wife was born to be in leadership and certainly exemplifies the qualities of a true "help mate." She has been my source of encouragement and inspiration through the years.
It would be impossible for me to share all the joys, tears, spiritual warfare and victories of our lives. Being a long term pastor of this church has been a very rewarding experience. The church is our family. It is made up of a unique blend of people who love the Lord and worship Him with exuberance. We invite you to come and celebrate Jesus with us. We believe you will say like so many others have said, "The difference is worth the distance."
Allow me to introduce myself. I am Pastor Howard Hancock and at my side is my lovely wife, Naomi. We came to Pastor the Edgemere Church of God thirty-three years ago. When we arrived in Baltimore there were four of us: Naomi and I, our five year old daughter, Suzi and our two year old son, Todd. Since being here we have been blessed with a son-in-law, Reverend Jude Nowak, our Assistant Pastor and Todd's wife, Pam. We are also the proud grandparents of three beautiful granddaughters -- Paige, Kelsi, and Kayla.
