Our History
The first sanctuary was constructed on Ellen Avenue in 1964. Due to continual growth an expansion program was launched and within two years an addition was added. After a period of ten years, crowded facilities again warranted more space. Through the dedicated labors of the membership, a lovely new edifice was erected which is a compliment to the community. Our new sanctuary stands today as a tribute to the faithfulness of dedicated believers whose sacrificial support, cooperative spirit, and constant stewardship form the basis of the ministry of the Edgemere Church of God.
The Edgemere Church of God was organized in September of 1959 in an old theater building which is now called the "Edgemere Manor." For three years the congregation worshipped there, enduring the cold and leaky facilities, but with the fire of God always in their midst. In 1962 our church family moved into the J&L Hall, a long narrow structure in the Jones Creek area.
